State Regulations:
In November 2010 new State Regulations for compounded medicines, like our Lipo injections, took effect. The new regulations require that each patient have their own prescription and bottle of Lipo injections. The bottle of Lipo injections must leave the compounding pharmacy (who makes our special blend of Lipo) with that patient's name & information.

Doctor's offices are not allowed to label the Lipo bottles as we do our appetite suppressants. It is a $100,000 fine per occurrence for noncompliance with the new regulations.
 
Our Lipo Injection Program That Meets Regulations:

  • Each time you come in for a Lipo injection we'll pull your bottle and use it just for you

    We are aware of some offices offering Lipo-type shots who are not following the new regulations and/or using half the recommended dose as prices have increased for these type of products due to the new regulations. Some of these offices are charging as much as $55 per shot.

    Any office that is offering Lipo shots should be able to show proof that each patient has their own bottle of injections that contains the patient's name, information, and a prescription number. If not, it is a clear violation of new State requirements. It should cause the patient to question that provider's standard of care.

    We've worked hard to be certain we are in full compliance with the new regulations, while developing a simple way to keep the Lipo injections affordable & easy to receive.

    We have to wait until your bottle of Lipo injections arrives before we can administer it. We are not allowed to administer a Lipo shot unless it has come from the pharmacy with the patient's name and prescription number already on it. We no longer keep individual shots on hand.

    Can I purchase just one month worth of shots at a time?
    Not under the new program.

    Can I purchase a Lipo prescription for a friend?
    No. However, you can come into our clinics and pay for a credit to be applied to an existing patient's account. When that patient comes in they will need to sign the prescription consent form and place their own order.

    Since the Lipo injections are prescribed to me, can I take the bottle home?
    For the safety of our patients our Company policy is that all injections purchased in our office must be stored and administered by us.

    Can I still go to different locations to receive my Lipo injections?
    Yes, if you purchase an additional prescription at that location. We cannot start administering a prescription in one location and then transfer it to another location.

    Can I still take the Lipo Lite Tabs with the injections?
    Yes. Nothing has changed about the Lipo injection formula, only how we prescribe it.

    Can Referral Credits be applied towards a Lipo prescription?
    Absolutely. A new patient can apply the standard $15 Referral Credit when referred by an existing patient. Returning patients can use any Referral Credit they have on file.

    Do I have to make an appointment for a Lipo shot now?
    No, there is no appointment necessary. We will see injection-only patients in the same timely manner we saw them before, on a first come first serve basis and separate from the patients seeing the doctor.
