Appointments
1. How quickly can I get an appointment?
Patients wanting a prescription medication are seen by appointment. Saturday schedules are designated for walk-in return patients. All new patients must have an appointment for their first visit. Patients wanting just an injection may walk-in. Call us at (770) Get-Thin and we'll schedule an appointment for you.
Medicines and Vitamins
1. Will our appetite suppressants show up in a drug test?
Not normally. Most drug tests look for illegal drugs and appetite suppressants are not illegal. We will be happy to provide our patients with a drug-screen letter anytime you request.
2. Are our appetite suppressants safe?
The appetite suppressants we use have been around for about 30 years, are FDA approved, and have an excellent safety record. We check each patient carefully to minimize any chance of an undesirable event.
3. Are there any side effects from our appetite suppressants?
Very few people experience side effects. The most common effects last 2-3 days and may include dry mouth, a jittery feeling (like you drank too much coffee), or mild headache. If you experience a problem with the medication, simply bring it back to us.

4. Why do we offer Multi-Vitamins?
Research has clearly shown that people losing weight become deficient in certain vitamins and minerals. As part of our program, you can purchase a month's supply of a quality multi-vitamin to keep the correct levels of vitamins and minerals in your body.
5. Can I take the appetite suppressants even though I'm taking other medicine?
Generally yes, unless you're taking lithium or an MAO medicine. Please feel free to call us and ask for specific information. Our physicians will review your current medications at every visit as well.
Losing weight
1. How much weight can I lose per month on Dr. Smith's Get Thin Program?
Some patients lose 10% of their body weight in one month. For example, if you weighed 250 pounds you could lose 25 pounds in a month. However, most of our patients lose 5-20 pounds per month depending on their efforts.
2. I'm going to the gym, why can't I lose weight?
We'll teach you about that on your first visit. Actually, we recommend that you don't work out hard until you've lost the weight you want to lose. We'll tell you what exercises we recommend when trying to lose weight. Typically, our patients are pleasantly surprised.
Pre-existing Medical Conditions
1. Can I be on the program if I have high blood pressure and/or diabetes?
YES! The primary treatment for these problems is to lose weight.
2. What if I have a pre-existing condition that is not listed? Can I be on the Dr. Smith's Get Thin Program?
Most likely! The Get-Thin program takes special care to ensure our patients safety. We'll speak with you about your particular medical condition, answer your questions, and make sure you're treated in the safest possible manner.
Medical Insurance
1. Do insurance programs cover weight loss?
Not often. However, we will provide you with the necessary information to file your claim.
